Fashion Week Day 3

Lets remember Whitney Houston. RIP. L

Lots of catwalks strutting their stuff today. I must say I slept through the first two showings on YouTube. But luckily for me YouTube has me covered. SO many shows today.

Lets start off the day with Lacoste.

I think the stage up staged the models. Colossal clear wall, that blew snow inside, gave the feel of a winter wonderland. Perfect for the ski vibe this collection gave. Nothing interesting at all, no wonder why my mom loves this designer. HAHA Just kidding. The style here is more of a basic everyday style. Everything definitely had a spandex touch, very tight clothing, with high collars. Details consisted of zippers, quilted textures, longer length coats, v necks made a few appearances, as well as leather, and slit blacks. Color pallet was dull, typical everyday colors such as; camel, blacks, navy, whites, and a pop of red here and there. Models hair and make up was fresh faced, and messy tassels.

Jill Stuart
Fun, Girly, Fresh. This collection was very feminine. Very playful fun and flirty full to semi-full A-line skirts with empire waists to accent curves.  I have seen peter pan collar button down skirts. High neck shirts as well along with turtlenecks were sported here tonight. Patterns consisted with monochromatic flowers. Trending here today was knee length coats. First half of the collections color pallet was purples and indigoes.  Second half put the classy away and came out with the sassy edgy vibe. Hints of sexy showed in the lace front dresses. Lots of sheer sequin details as well as leather side panels on the pencil skirts. Models hair was natural waves and purple tones in eyeshade.

Herve Leger

VA VAA VOOM BABY!
This collection was made for a Goddess! This had a warrior roman badass vibe, and screams I’m sexy and I know it. Very tight in the body, shows off the curves for sure. Leather strappy corset belts, for the added sexiness, and badass look. IN this collection I saw a a lot of animal print clutches, fur coats/trim, fur skirts, leather leggings, strappy accents, and metallic’s. Color pallet went from anywhere to burgundy red, to shimmer gold tones. My favorite was the strappy boots. Models had sleek ponytails.

Tibi

Very Masculine, grey tone suits, scotch tape plaids and high collars. Let me mention the short trimmed pants, as well as the boxy top shirts. Spotted in this collection was the bird print. Button downs consisted of the bird print as well as different collar color. Say that 3 times fast. Haha. There was no energy in this collection, models walks seemed like they had no where to go. The designer gods have answered my prayers. I saw that green metallic’s were in this collection, only thing that was interesting. Also there were low cuts and caged back cuts. Something completely new was no heals in this collection. Models had pink blush.

Monique Lhuillier

Simply gorgeous! Definitely red carpet looks here.  The models effortlessly glided down the runway. Low cuts, back and front were popular. Trendy obi leather belts were the main accessories, for an added chic, bold look.  Sequin accented tuxes are a must have! She used sequins to her advantage, whether it was small accent details to her red and gold fully covered dresses. Shoes were strappy lace up heals. I wish I had more to say about this collection but I am speechless.

  1. I am not sure my opinion of Lacoste? There are parts I loved, for instance, the boots and the white coat I thought was gorgeous, myself. Altogether, I don't think I would be the most stylish one on the slopes or at the ski lodge wearing those! But hey, to each their own!

jill stuart....all I can say is that this is what I love! I love everything feminine but even with all the floral/lace etc I think she designs with an edge to it, which makes it, for me, more attractive. There is nothing better than an outfit that makes you feel feminine/girly AS WELL as sexy! And I think this collection does this.

I liked how Tibi introduced flat wear, and no high heels, I was digging that.
But the boxiness of the two center outfits (minus the green metallic color of course haha)
were unrealistic with fashion today, in my opinion...although im no fashionista. PLus i know designers come out with the weirdest designs, yet a lot of people find them inspiring.
But i was not a fan. ALTHOUGH possibly if those boxy ensembles were paired
with different pair of pants..MAYBE they would grab my attention more...in a good way this time hopefully!

  2. Tibi was the only designer I saw that had flats! I thought that was amazing and practical. I don't like how nowadays designers push for sky high thin heals. Yes they look pretty, and they even introduced the platform, but you still have a higher risk of breaking something in your body. I think they should at least put either a chunky heal, or put on a strap, so you have better coverage. I find it easier to walk in if there is at least a strap.
    ** sorry for my rant.

I didn't like the boxyness at all either. If you want to look like a box, then wear a box. hahahhahahah! I didn't like the metallic green in this, I only liked the color and fabric. If it was styled differently it would have been a winner.
